IELTS Writing

There are two purposes of this module. First, to be able to answer the question correctly by using facts and figures and second, to be able to answer questions by constructing an argument based on your own views and opinions.

The test is 60 minutes long and is compose of 2 tasks:

Task One: You will be asked to write just 150 words in 20 minutes. You will be given “Virtual Representations” in a number of formats such as tables, graphs, pie charts, illustrations and diagrams. Through practice and after you have passed this module, it will benefit you when you during your studies when you are asked to write a report from diagrams.

Task Two: You will be asked to write 250 words in 40 minutes. The question will ask your opinion or ask you to debate the issues or even show how to solve a problem and predict future trends. Remember, that it is a 'General Interest' format which means you have no need to be a specialist to answer this question. You just need to be able to write an argument based on your own views and opinions. In other words, there is no right or wrong answer to the question, but instead your writing style is what will be examined.
