Visiting Home Country during Studies in UK

Hello All,

I am a student in UK, and here on Tier 4 General Student Visa for 3 years.

Diwali is coming, and I am looking forward to go to my home country for about 16 days, during which my college is closed, there are no classes in those 16 days as per the given timetable by the college authorities.

I want to know, if I must take any written letter or any document from my college authorities, granting me the permission to go to my home country, or should I just book the tickets straight away, as I am not going to miss any of my classes, and even so far, I have been regularly attending all my classes!

Thanks, please do let me know what shall I do in regards to this, I want to leave for my home country next month during the first week, and would return back in about 2 weeks time then!

I await your responses!
Thanks again!

  • yeah. I agree. as far as I know, you need to get a permission to travel from your college to be safe.

  • Hi DLS

    Hope you are well.

There is no requirement for you to justify your holiday outside the UK.

However, I’m sure everyone is aware that some Immigration Officers can be quite belligerent, so, for peace of mind you could well take a document with you, detailing that your college is indeed closed for this period, you won’t miss any classes, and also confirming the date that you are expected to be back in the college.

    Hope this helps.
