I lodged for visa last feb.04 and until now i didnt receive my visa yet.To whom can i verify the status of my application? And is there a possibilty that i was denied? Why is it that my companions who lodged on the same day received their visa after 3 days. What could have possibly caused the delay?how long is the normal visa processing?thank you!
This post was submitted by Shiela.
My application has been dispatched to the British Embassy on Jan. 13,2010 for processing. I have been patiently waiting for the result until now. Hence, it prompted me send an email and track my application status. It’s already painful and stressful that I don’t receive any updates and how long it will take me to have a result.
My school has not been suspended. Why is it that there are other applicants which are processed in just 3 days??? Im almost 3 months!!

If the college’s sponsor licence had been permanently withdrawn, your application would have been refused. Has this happened yet? If not, let’s not jump to conclusions about blacklisting!

Birmingham Management Training College is an A rated (Trusted) sponsor as of 20 April 2010. Does the course have a work placement? If it does, your sponsor will need the new Highly Trusted Sponsor licence. As your course is NQF level 3 or higher and if it does not have a work placement, then your current A rated sponsor will be OK. Read how the Highly Trusted Sponsor Scheme will affect you and check the Highly Trusted Sponsors list for more details.

Also when i check for my visa application status it is still showing that your application is still under process.

Hi Amar
As you application has not been refused, I don’t think the UK Border Agency has come to a decision over the college’s licence – if it had been permanently withdrawn, your application would have been refused.

why is the processing of student visa here in manila giving us so much pain? the waiting time is terrible. we are wasting so much time waiting. we paid so much (around $200) for the visa application, we deserve to receive a sound processing time.
if the UK embassy in Taguig, Philippines cannot handle the work load, then they should advise VFS to temporarily stop accepting application so that the back log can be addressed.
i am so DISAPPOINTED with the UKBA’s very slow processing. they should be RESPONSIBLE enough to handle their task!!

I imagine that there are many applications to go through, considering the huge spike in numbers that caused the suspension. It will take them time to clear the backlog and process new applications.

Daniel,
Would you know what happens now that the suspension has been lifted?
Like so many people here, I applied at St. Patrick’s College and lodged my visa application last Jan 14, 2010. Now that the suspension has been lifted, me and 9 other people from my agency are still waiting word from the Embassy on the status of our visa application that has been on hold.
Is there a chance that they will refuse the visa and ask us to reapply using the new rules? Or will they approve the application of the visas that has been pending in their office for 2 months now?
I am just curious as to what action they will take cuz I have never heard of the Embassy ever holding on to applications pending additional documents (as per the changes the St. Patrick’s is implemting). They just judge the merit of your application based on what you have submitted already. Or refuse the visa outright.
Please advise. And thank you so much for your very helpful website.

Hello Joy,
I enrolled to St. Patrick last Jan 18, 2010 too. My consultancy told me that they were UKBA registered and then i found out they were not listed on the UKBA registered school. I tried to asked my consultancy to transfer me to other school and until now im waiting for thier replies. But then as they always say..they were still adjusting on the new system. Im still wondering why did St. Patrick claimed last March 03 that their licensed were reinstated and until now they are not listed on the recent updates on the UKBA’s registered sponsor.

Hi May
It can take several days for the UK Border Agency to manually update the Tier 4 Register.
However, a sponsor’s suspension officially ends on the date quoted in the letter they will receive from the UK Border Agency confirming the suspension is lifted. This letter is sent Recorded Delivery.
As soon as a sponsor receives this letter, they can begin issuing CAS numbers again.

Hi Joy
The Embassy probably has quite a large backlog of applications to clear, as well as all the applications they have received.
Given the St. Patrick’s suspension has recently been resolved, I imagine it will take the Embassy some time to clear the backlog.

Hi Anne
Remember that the 3 months you have been waiting also includes the time your sponsor’s licence was suspended, when all visa applications were put on hold.
I imagine there is a large backlog of applications at the Embassy and remember that they will be receiving new applications too. It will therefore take them sometime to get through all the applications.
