thanks to all of you, I was about to deposit admission fees for ACCA+MBA but after reading all your problems I have changed my mind and instead considering University of Liverpool.

I have a deep sympathy for all of you and pray that you get your money back asap. I have also read the terms and conditions on the admission forms and I was suspicious on the wording and my guess was correct. Always, always read terms and conditions because that is the trick most of the business in UK play with their customers, I hope you all get your money back.

I have paid 2500 to LSBF. I applied for MBA but before the course start daye I requested MR neil Cameron to change my course or either refund my money or cancel my visa as I was not at all satisfied withy the college services. I am a consultant my self and worked for LSBF under a multinational company named Preparation for Life and FM Consultants (Pakistan) nothing was done no respect was given to my request. all the stall ARE BLOOD SUCKERS WARMS OF STUDENTS. they follow up , call students unless he pays the fees and once the student gets visa and pays the fees they become DRAGONS and do not care for the institution reputition or bad will in the market. I have rectuted hundreds of students for LSBF what have they given in return? Mr Neil cameron, Augustine, Richard Sherry, Alkita Abazi no one bothers.. could u answer what are u paid for????????? I need my money back. you are an A Rated institute please care for your good will in the market and don t ack like a bogus college. kindly deduct whatever charges you want and rest refund back the money

  • Don’t suffer in silence complain to ACCA and BAC, if everyone on this forum that has a problem with LSBF sent in an addressed, signed and dated letter to these bodies, the situation with LSBF will turn around very quickly. The more people that can be bothered to pick up a pen an construct a simple, the better our chances of getting our money back. LSBF is counting on as many people that will grumble but take no real action. Remember, for evil to prevail, all it takes is for good men and women to do nothing. Don’t grumble on forums take action. The addresses for both these organisations are on my earlier post. BAC has been good to me!!! I’m just saying!!!

  • I’m in the same situation. Submitted a refund ticket for months now. They replied that it will take around 15 days as what others had mentioned but still no news from them after almost a year now. Worst part is you can’t talk to someone. Went to CAB but was told they can’t help but suggested to contact consumer direct.

  • yeah this all happens a lot

what you guys need is to contact a lawyer inside uk search it on Google and mail them with the situation …. they are looking for these kinda situations where ill is done

I did the same with my **** college

justice is blind in uk as well not to mention far worse then Asian countries if you dont report it

although there is no legal system if u dont use it …
if they are getting your money back and keeping some of it
its better than to have the college keep it all… i know the colleges in the uk mostly all are the same except the big universities you can contact a lawyer in your home country as well …

one last advice if you are paying a big amount to a highly trusted home office college in uk be very very care full …
they most probably will not refund the fees … do your home work
but sometimes that wont even work ….

  • DO NOT USE LSBF – THEY ARE A BUNCH OF COWBOYS

My employer paid £544 for me to attend the P2 ACCA Module. The first morning of our supposed learning was a shambles. We were placed in one room then told to move to another room. The 2nd room filled up and soon there were more students than the 60 seat classroom could hold. Health and Safety regulations were breached when students without seats began bringing in tables and chairs from other rooms. I then overheard two lecturers in the classroom talking about the class having 95 students and only ONE lecturer. We were then told we would be moved to a bigger room that could seat 80…..still 15 seats too few. At this point, I left the school and returned to the admin office to ask for a refund. I then discovered that the total number of students on the P2 course was 120, again with only one lecturer allocated to teach them. LSBF staff said that this was manageable, but the 3 different providers in Manchester that I spoke to all strongly disagreed, as did a contact at ACCA Connect in Glasgow.

It also turns out that the Manchester campus is not accredited. The Gold accreditation logo and other wording are on the Manchester pages of their website – BUT THIS IS A LIE. THE ONLY CAMPUS’ THAT IS ACCREDITED IS LONDON.

    Check out https://portal.accaglobal.com/tpweb/faces/page/public/tuitionprovider/searchtp/XXTPQuickSearchVO1Table.jspx

This will list the approved learning providers that should be used instead of this unscrupulous organisation.
Furthermore, Prince Michael of Kent is a patron, and he has a section on his website where people can ask him a question. Make him aware of all your issues regarding LSBF. I just did that so he may have some influence on them.

  • Hi. I have 30 students who have applied to study in EDC Birmingham and GVC Manchester UK in 2009. Some students were not even issued visa letters by EDC and some who have filled there cases in to British High Commission were forced to withdraw their files as both EDC and GVC got out of the sponsor’s list under tier 4 and there was not decision on their visa application for more than 3-4 months time.so to save their career students decided not to go UK AND applied for the fees refunds in the respective colleges. both EDC and GVC have given refund to some students and for rest they are not paying now and making different excuses. Some refund cheques which were issued by EDC were dishonored too due to the closure of their account.every acceptance regarding the refunds is being mailed by the colleges. Can any body please show the way how to get the fees back from these colleges and to get them punished for such breach of trust.

  • I’m in the same situation since 2008. I have written letters, emails, visited the school, calls and no results. My case is a bit different, because LSBF is not accredited by the U.S. dept of education, which turned out to be a complete nightmare. Since then I have been trying to get my deposit back, but I’ve been told that I can’t because my visa was not refused. Yet, it didn’t make sense to get a visa, if the school is not accredited in the U.S. I contacted them with the issue, but of course, no answer. I know of people who actually did get their money back, but they went to a lawyer. An employee of the school also contacted me telling me to open a ticket, because the school was refunding students their deposits due to the financial crisis, it has been almost two years since I opened the ticket, one month is closed and the next is opened.

  • I have also requested a refund of £5480 after ill advise for their ‘advisors’ when I was told that I had to pay for all ACCA modules in order to qualify for the MBA offer they had, only to find that:

    1. I was exempt from 6 of the 14 modules due to my BA Hons Dregree
    2. I only had to buy 3 modules in order to qualify for the MBA offer.

I was told that it would take 3 weeks for any possible refund and now find my self as you all stuck having to practically BEG for my money back because I had to take out a heavy interest loan for this and I’m paying the interest without at anytime having to do so.

I will join this facebook group and I WILL write to the ACCA and British Accreditation Council.

I am chocked that some of you are having to wait years withuot actual response, very afraid that this will happen to me, as I’m paying great interest on this loan!

  • LSBF fake pass guarantee

Hi, was online ACCA student of LSBF for 2 semesters, total disappointment… the first time bought F4, F5 and F6 with pass guarantee but gave only F4 which I passed, so thought they would be kind enough to offer me the F5 and F6 for free because technically i havent passed the other two… the professional answer was sorry you have to fail to get free lesson for the next semester…. OK now for the second semester released that suddenly for copyright reasons the e book and revision kit were not available for printing, which is not convenient at all, sent a complaint but the cold answer from LSBF was unfortunately they couldnt do anything…. Their videos are always bad recorded you can hear outside noises and the most of times get frozen…

The funny thing is when you order your modules they have a big sign PASS GUARANTEE but tiny terms for the terms how you actually get this pass.

So have purchased for second time F5, F6, and F7 (F7 which was free module if you were buying 2)with pass guarantee. Passed F6 but failed in F5 and F7 the only thing that could chear me up was the thing i knew i would get these two for free… guess what there is a term you have to pass the mock tests which werent available in my account and to contact their technical support is really pointless.

OK MY MISTAKE AGAIN, but they obviously forgetting they deal with students whom budget is really limited. I find them really “cold” and “tight” when they have to give back anything(i.e. free lessons), SO BE AWARE IF YOU ARE BUYING ANYTHING FROM THERE, PLEASE READ THE TERMS SO YOU COULD CLAIM YOUR FREE LESSONS AFTER FAILING

Personally I am not going to study in LSBF again!!!

good luck to all for June exams 2011

  • I say please go head and file your complain to relevant University as well. After all the monay is shared and collect on the behalf of the university degree. LSBF is merely the agent not the actual owner of the MBA/ACCA/etc courses.

Companint directly to relevant parties and make them aware of this highly highly trusted colleges.

  • Hello Kingsley

The most important thing to do is to write to the British Accreditation council and ACCA. The more complaints received by them, the more likely they are to take some sort of action. Among the reputable schools LSBF is the only company that does this. They do it because they have gotten away with it for so long. They deliberately conceal useful information and watch people fall in and then cash in on the spoils. Talk about kicking a man that is down. Complain to these authorities. The more complaints the more action. I am taking my case to court and would fill in this forum with all the details as it proceeds. British Accreditation Councils address is below 44 Bedford Row
London WC1R 4LL. Your letter must be named signed and dated. ACCAs address is 2 Central Quay 89 Hydepark Street Glasgow G3 8BW. A direct email to ACCA is tuition@accaglobal.com. Send an email using your full name and ACCA number. They cant ignore all of us.

  • Fellow friends, I have decided to take this further. “For evil to prevail, all it takes is for good men to do nothing”.
I have set up a facebook group called LSBF!!NO FEES BACK POLICY. Join this group if you think this policy is unjust and unfair, join if you want your voice to become louder, join if you believe in the power of SYNERGY, join if you work hard for your money and you want your money to work hard for you. THE AIM OF THIS GROUP IS TO GATHER AS MANY PEOPLE AFFECTED BY LSBF NO REFUND POLICY GET PETITIONS SIGNED AND PRESENTED TO THEIR REGULATORS. If still no results, we take it to the next level. Where ever that is. if you are familiar with Mendelow’s stakeholder matrix then note this: We as individual are powerless to stop a giant like LSBF. We fall in the category of High interest, but low power. People in our group are usually ignored. This has been our experience so far. Joining up as one collective group will change that. We would have a louder voice, if not to LSBF, it will be louder to their regulators. There is everything to gain here and nothing to lose. The group is free and I am happy to administer the complaints, I AM BASED IN THE UK SO GETTING TO THE POWERS THAT BE IS EASY. Look forward to fighting this good fight with you.

  • Hello there

I am also in the same problem with the school. They refuse to refund £3450 due to been unable to obtain a visa. Complain to ACCA, CIMA or whatever you are studying. Also British Accreditation Council. They are responsible for them. It appears that this is a major problem with the school and the more people formally complain the better. If you know of anyone else going through the same thing get them to log there complain here and we can collectively fight this. The worst thing the school does is not responding to official complaints. Last time I checked there were laws against. If we have a good few people this could be logged on watchdog. No company should be allowed to get away with stealing thousands of pounds by relying on a technicality. The more of us there are the more powerful we become. Spread the word!!

    London College of Accountancy 01 / 01/ 2011
    19 Charter House Street
    London, EC1N 6RA.

    Dear Sir / Madam,

I am writing to request a full refund of my tuition fees of £4600 (minus the registration fee of £150 as per our agreement) which was paid on 27th of October 2010 for the course of ACCA that has begun in January 2011.

As noted in the refund policy of your college tuition fees / deposits in relevance to overseas student enrolments, I very much regret to inform you that I qualify for this refund as my application for the student visa has been declined by the British High Commission of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

In support of this claim, I have attached all the five pages of my Visa Refusal letter issued by the British High Commission of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Please note: All refunded amount should be made payable to my elder brother, Mr. Afzal Rahman, who resides in the UK and who had originally made the payments on my behalf being my sponsor.

If you require any further information, please feel free to contact me or my brother Mr. A Rahman.

I will appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and Mr. Afzal Rahman looks forward to receiving the full refund (deducting the reg fee) as per our agreement.

  • To whom It may concern,

Goodday. Hi I just want to ask if i can file a complaint or sue the school, because they dont want to return my refunds of my tuition fees I paid to them. and its been quite too long now.and they did not response to my email. I apply for student visa in the philippine british embassy year 2007 i was refused but because i believe that i am a genuine student i appeal to the asylum and immigration tribunal and after a year i was allowed. while the embassy here call me up and advise me to submit my passport and my new visa letter. I asked the school for the visa LETTer and they send it to my address, when i received it i submit it to the embassy immediately knowing that they will now give the visa but unfortunately the embassy send me again another refusal letter stating that they will not give me a visa for the reason that the school was not then registered to UKba. and they are not having their qualification to practice the nvq course.
I waited for a year for the school to fix their license and qualification and now they back into business but they did not even bother to send my CAS. or even reply to my emails.

I just want to know if I have the rights to complaint eventhough I am overseas student from the philippines. All I want is to get back my tuition fees and to return the payment which i paid to the solicitors during the appeal because as far as i am concern it is their liable why i was refused.
Please let me know what will i do to my case

    Thank you,
    Grace Amores

      Dear Student,

The committee has reviewed your refund application and visa refusal letter attached. Following your last correspondence, deposits are refundable in specific visa refusal cases.

If the school supplied an invalid visa letter which was the root cause of the visa application being refused the school would take full responsibility and refund the full fees paid by the student. It is the students complete responsibility to provide all necessary documentation to show evidence of maintenance support as required and clearly stated in under the Tier 4 regulations. If the maintenance is refused based on insufficient evidence supplied by the student the school is not responsible for this. As a result, no refund is permitted.

After reviewing your case specifically. The visa was refused due to insufficient funds as mentioned by UKBA. moreover deposits are non-refundable. As a result you are not entitled for a refund of your fees paid. No refund due.

Could you please send the medical documents for your mother for our consideration.

      Regards,

        • Hi could you please let me know the way?

          My Story:
          ========================================
I have currently paid 75% of ACCA course fees in LSBF for July 2011 session. The course was supposed to start from July 6th. As I am still for a visa outcome for more than two months, my situation changed a bit to withdraw admission from LSBF now.

I have already contacted LSBF for a refund and they have asked me to submit a ticket to their refund committee.

My genuine reason for refund is that my migration application with Australia has progressed to its final stage and within a month or two I am expecting a positive outcome.

Now what would be a proper way to claim refund from LSBF?

          1) Withdraw Visa Application from British High Commission
          2) Wait for the visa outcome (I expect positive) and then cancel the admission with LSBF to claim a refund.
          3) OR any other way you people can suggest.

          Thanks.

I have got offer letter for BBA top up then I paid £2500 deposit for my studies but my advisor said that my bank statement is old and LSBF didn’t issue a CAS for me. I applied for refund but they refused me as I didn’t apply before 15 days of commencement date of studies. My visa is expiring 02.11.2011, so I’m really desperate in getting my fees back. How could you help me?
