We do not want to be rude, but here in Manila, Phils., the processing of student visa is taking ages. It is wasting our time. We are helpless, all we do is wait. If there is so much work load in Taguig, UK Embassy, then they should advise VFS in Makati to temporarily stop accepting visa applicants to address the current work load. We are paying so much for the fee, around $200 and we deserve a proper and responsible service. Please help us…

Hi everyone
I just want to share my experience with you guys…..
I have been in UK for 2 years holding a student visa for nvq II..my visa has expired last Sept 2009 and unfortunately the UKBA refuse to grant me an extension to stay because of certain technicalities about posting the documents that includes my maintenance funds which i did not reach the 28 days period that i have enough funds to support my stay in UK and the reason of delayed posting was the strike happened at the post office..so I have no choice but to go back here in the Phil. and re-apply my tier4..On November 2009 I submitted my application at the UK Embassy in Makati…but still up to now no results..Ive been waiting for 6 months, I had even reached the 120 days processing time that you can see in the UKBA website and at the VFS scheduled framework time..I’ve always find updates in many ways in the internet and calling them for follow ups but they always say that “maghintay na lang kayo kasi hindi kami ang nagaaprove UKBA ang nagaapprove”..but when I think over my previous application last 2008 it was only a 15 day processing approval..My school is an A trusted rating in their list of sponsors in UKBA….I have also a brother who is working in UK for 5yrs and he’s the one giving me some updates, like what are the reasons why there are delays this month on the approval of UKBA, bec of UK general election but i hope after this election they have come up to give positive results on our application. God bless us all.

Hi, I am thinking of going to London this year. My sister which is a student visa nurse went there last Jan. 22. Luckily, she made it for only 3 months. However, my course is not health related. Actually I’m frustrated IT. But I am hoping that if I go there, I can start studying atleast the course. although I am already 26 years old right now.
Is it too risky if I pursue the visa this year? I am looking for an agency who can assist me aswell.
Thanks

Im just thinking now if DFA could help us on this matter, well they really should since its their JOB to help us finding out whats the real problem here. if we could help each other now i think we could also get a right answer for all our questions. i dont know but im also hopeless wondering or hoping that i can get a text message from them saying that i can get the result tomorrow.. “buti pa sila madaling makapunta ng pinas” i just think this is not fair.LIFE oh LIFE. if you stil want to talk bout this more you can always PM me at maccaritativo@yahoo.com. ciao!

According to the filipino faculty of a certain college in London ,who helped me in my enrollment, the home agency asked all the colleges of the list of their students and checked if they still go to school. That will be the basis of the qualification to renew the college’s licenses. For what i know, all colleges are in the process of renewing their licenses. Also, for those who lodged their application before the effectivity of certificate of acceptance (new regulations), the embassy might be asking for such even only visa letter is required at the time of your application.

i empathize with u guys coz i myself have been waiting for the result of my visa application for 4 months now and still got no result…and sad thing is, we were informed that the school we enrolled in got suspended!! im starting to get hopeless, and anxious of this whole uk application thing… but nevertheless, the embassy should release our documents at the soonest possible time, approved or denied, so as we can move on with our lives! i cant move, not even travel abroad coz my passport is on-hold also.. we already spent so much money with this, plus effort and stress, so we hoping that the vfs/british embassy will also understand our plight…

this is our most problem at the present. we all applicants are waiting for too long but still no confirmation for what is really the status of our applications. and more painful, after waiting for a long time still our visas denied. how hard it is in our sides. SO PLEASE…..UK embassy do your part to help us out. just release the result of all of our applications in shortest possible time. so that we can move to the next thing we had in our plans. its better you release the results, whatever it takes!!!! just advice some for if they get visa not to come to UK if there is still a problem with the UKBA.

I think you should follow up your application monthly in the UK embassy or if still nothing happens, try to get the attention of the Government Agency concerned to this matter. We should have equal quality of service at all times since it is our right.

Yong mga kasama ko sa pag lodged ng papers may visa na sila at nasa UK na. Bali 11 kaping nag apply last dec. 16 then by dec. 27 may 4 na may visa na by the first week of January 4 denied. By feb. 2 denied and i think 2 nlang kaming natitira na wla lang result nang aming visa. Sana man lang mas madala kasi 4 months in waiting tapos at the end, im waiting for nothing. Sayang kasi yong time pwede ko sanang ginawa o ginastos yong pera ko sa ibang bagay.

Unfortunately I don’t think there is much you can do – if you withdraw your visa application you are unlikely to get a refund from your college. So it’s best to wait the outcome of your application, in my opinion.

bastos na kung bastos, VFS Makati mahiya naman kayo… stop receiving application until the workload is okay. or shall i say the UK EMBASSY IS AFTER OUR FEES that’s why they cannot stop accepting applicants. they love to deny application… and they love to keep accepting application for money… POOR UK EMBASSY for resorting to this kind of shameful act….

This is so true. Also, I don’t see any logical reason why it takes more than 4 months to asses just to deny the visa application. I’m really disappointed on how they work

Here we are again, lost and disappointed… We checked our Nov2009 applicatiion: 10Nov lodged application at VFS, 15Nov received SMS from embassy stating our application was under process, 16Nov the decision was made (date of denial), 07Dec documents was sent to courier.. why is there so much gap from date the decision was made until it was mailed back to VFS? This is what’s causing the delay… the system inside the embassy…it’s not really the “scrutiny”..and to prove this, we (group of 15 pax) lodged on the same day Feb2010(again, after our denial) and 11 has been returned already after 2 weeks- unluckly all were denied. They were given 30pts for school and 0pts for funds. Again, having the same funds, true to their name which they used during their first application and was given 10pts (why 0pts now?). And why is it that their application was returned after 2 weeks and ours is already 8 weeks caught to nowhere inside the embassy…So much delay, so much time wasted…

The rules surrounding maintenance funds are very strict. The dates must be exact and many people make simple errors. I would always recommend submitting bank statements / pass books showing cash funds and a letter from your bank stating that you have immediate access to the funds. This also serves to confirm that your statements are true and genuine.
A Tier 4 (General) student must show that he/she has held the required money for a consecutive 28 day period (finishing on the date of the closing balance) ending no more than 1 month before his/her application.
Where a student is providing evidence of maintenance from a single account, the ECO will always assess the funds available to the student from the closing balance given on the document provided as evidence.
There must be some reason why you are continually being refused for maintenance – can you perhaps share some of your refusal notices with us so we can help you further?

MR. DANIEL,
We lodged Dec 2009 the first time and we were denied because there was a problem with our school. This, we understand. We reapplied Feb 2010 and around 15 were returned all denied. They were given 30pts for school and 0 pt for funds. They used the same funds. We now understand about simple technicalities. But come to think of it, isn’t it more credible if we send our passbook/bank account showing that we have so much money for months or even years in bank showing our financial capacity rather than what is acceptable by the embassy as having only funds for 28 days? We could always put up money so easily for 28 days. But is is hard to keep money in bank for months… that is why we cannot accept why our funds is refused when we have credible account in bank…Some of our application were already returned starting last week and so sad that having the same school which were given 30 pts now has 0 pt… We are registered nurses and we have psychiatric nursing as major subject.. we are supposed to understand the embassy, but so sad because we really cannot understand them no matter what concept we have to apply…

i don’t see any logical reason why approval of a student visa in UK will be delayed, lalo na super mahal ng fees. hope all Filipino nurses who are studying in UK succeed in their goals.

Hi Carmela
Well, all applications are on hold when a sponsor’s licence is suspended. They will not even be considered, so the applications are literally stored somewhere until the situation changes. The Embassy will have been receiving fresh applications the whole time, which they will be working on. Considering the numbers of applications on hold it will take them some time to clear the backlog.
Also, I imagine each application now takes longer to process, given the greater scrutiny currently being given to documents submitted.

hi james b.
so sad, but all we can do for now is wait. we can check on line and all we get is “your visa is under process”. what’s more, we were lodged on the same week and some were already returned after 2 weeks- denied. painless months of waiting is not an assurance that you get the visa. no no no, it is most likely a denial. check on your denial date, against the time it was noted as “your application has been sent back to you”, it is taking them ages to mail back the application. so it is not the review perse that is really taking so long. so irresponsible…

Hi James,
They’ve just released the date for February and it doesn’t look good; Tier 4 applications are definitely the most delayed. However, they did make 620 decisions for student visas, by far the greatest of all the PBS applications.
Hopefully you’ll get your visa soon. I’d also encourage you to complain.

Today is my 7th week of helpless waiting for my student visa application… I feel lost. I want to move on, like if it is really impossible to get a student visa for UK these days, then i should be moving on to my next plan. But how can I do it when my original documents is with the embassy?
This work load in Taguig, Phils should be addressed because this is not the kind of service we, FILIPINO NURSES, deserve after paying soooooooooo much for the application. And I also heard from a lot more applicants that after waiting for ages (months), all they get is a via denial.. This is so irresponsible way of handling application. Please do something UK EMBASSY!
