VFS is a Shambles: Can’t get an Appointment for Love nor Money

Hi
i should mention here that, getting an appointment for a Tier 4 student visa is difficult and i really dont understand the process.

My course starts on Oct 1,2010. When i sent an email to VFS indicating that i need an appointment to file a Tier 4 student visa, the VFS south replied back to me, stating that they can only give appointments if the starting date mentioned on the CAS is on or before 30th September 2010. The thing that really bothers me is, it is just a difference of 1 day, it just falls within the stipulated “apply before 3 months of the course start date” rule and i have to wait for a period of.. i dont know how many days, to file the VISA.
But, one of my friend has already submitted an application at the same VFS center, with prior appointment, eventhough his course start date is Oct 7, 2010. This is really unfair.

I am concerned and pretty tensed. The best part is, i went to the VFS office, bangalore recently and i saw a lot of people filing visa’s without prior appointment, but vfs is not encouraging tier 4 student VISA applicants to enter the waiting hall without prior appointment( amazed).

I should highlight here that, the VFS south only replies to you, if you send an email for the first time.when you actually reply to an email sent by them, i dont understand, they even bother replying, if your using the same email account.

Actually, i appreciate the UKBA outsourcing the tasks to ease the process, what i am really concerned is when it comes to implementation, VFS is really not handling customers well.An online appointment system, can better ease any confusion.

Applying for a VISA, is a really frustrating process( i think everyone of us knows this). We only go there to study for 1 year ( that too assuming masters courses). There is a lot of emotion, drama and fear with the whole process and i get a feeling that nobody is fair.
I will not blame UKBA for this, because i still do not have any insight about the experience after filing the VISA and its outcome.
As DLS has mentioned, yes they may be merciless. On the first hand,i want to ask DLS,why did you even file a VISA for the second time,i get that you really were interested in the course from the way you have described it.But nevertheless, i think you should have commited for a job or a better university here in india or someother country other than UK … i guess…

But as far as my appointment is concerned,i really dont know what to do…i have all the documents ready but i am unable to file the VISA. I want to get rid of this tension as soon as possible, because i am unable to commit for any job or business.Once the outcome of the VISA application is known, i can really think of my next step.I am definitely sure UK is not the only place to study. There are a lot of other options too..

But DLS , unlike you, should my VISA go wrong, i am definitely not filing the VISA for the second time.
But the university is definitely going to loose GBP 21,000, which was to be paid as my Tution fee and accomodation fee.

What amazes me is , it is hardly 2.5 months for my course to start, and i am still not allowed to file the VISA because my course starts on oct 1,2010 and not sep 30th,2010. When will i file a VISA..?, enrol in the university.?, arrange for the accomodation? book flight tickets and make travel arrangements ?.Can you assume if this can be done in 2.5 months, even if my VISA should be approved?
I really appreciate the concern of UKBA and it’s official partners to customers like me( Sarcasm). On the first hand, they should not grant university visits through Brtish council and give an unconditional admit. The universities should not demand a prior deposit of either GBP 1,000 – 2,000 to issue a CAS. When the CAS has been issued, after paying an initial deposit the UKBA is assumed to provide appropriate help to ease the process of attending universities. This is where, this enterprise is a mere failure.
