Students applying under tier 4 for UK after 22nd February 2010 will no longer be issued with an original visa letter but with a virtual document in a further shakeup to the UK Border Agency’s tier 4 (general) student visa system.
Replacing the visa letter, the confirmation of acceptance for studies is a unique reference number which is assigned to a student by their school or college using the new sponsorship management system. Rather than present an original visa letter with their applications, under this new tier 4 rule students will have to submit their confirmation of acceptance for studies reference number, avoiding the expense of having documents sent secure mail across the world.
A student’s confirmation of acceptance for studies reference number will also contain information on how much of the tuition fees the student has paid to date and details of any qualifications seen by the school or college as part of the application, such as English level. Once a student’s confirmation of acceptance for studies number has been generated, it will be valid for 6 months, after which if no application has been made it will become invalid and a new number will have to be generated.
There will be a charge of £10 for each confirmation of acceptance for studies issued – charged by the UK Border Agency to schools and colleges – with the majority of students likely to have to cover this cost themselves. Only schools and colleges that appear on the UK Border Agency Tier 4 Register of Sponsors will have access to the sponsorship management system, and therefore issue a confirmation of acceptance for studies.
This new measure is part of many changes to the tier 4 system and has been implemented to eliminate the possibility of false visa letters as part of the UK Government’s clampdown on chip-shop colleges. There have also been a number of high profile bogus college arrests, some in recent months and this new system is a positive step in cleaning up the system.
Hi, I applyied for BPS tier 4 general visa on 27 march 2011 ,and my course already started and the dead line to be joined was 18 april 2011 till now I am not get the visa.My questions are:

My PSW Visa runs out on the 20th of this month and have stillnot got a CAS.Is it advisable to post my application without the CAS and reapply when am refused. Better than waiting for my visa to run out. What do I do?

hello i have just got my visa refused some days ago
my educational provider told me to apply again and for this i will need a new CAS number .
i do not mind applying for visa again and the college administrator will issue me the CAS number but it will cost me more than 2000 pounds

Hello, I got my student visa approved for 2 years to study a foundation degree at a trusted college sponsor.
But my Visa says I can only work 10 hours p/w.
Is this a mistake because I read that FdA can work 20 hours, I have only 10 days before I fly to UK. If it was a mistake can I change it in UK?

i applied for a tier 4 general student visa and i was denied due to my maintenance funds. i reapplied a again since i solved my problems regarding the funds but i did not ask again for a new cas because they said that you will only be given a cas number once. when i reapplied again using the old cas number (i was given 30 points for that on 1st application)i was denied again because of that!!
is there a law stating that u cannot use the same cas number even if i was granted 30 points during my first application?

My name is Yeni Artanti, from Indonesia. I’ve been applied online for visitor student visa to UK for 4 months (Sept-Des 2010). I have the appointment for biometric / finger print on 26 August 010 in Jakarta. But when I printed the checklist that I’ve found under the Tiers 4 (Adult student Visa) and I get confused about the CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) Number. I will study at Loughborough University, research department, School of Art and Design. For the funding, I have the letter from my government (Dept of higher education in Indonesia confirm that they will pay for my tuition, health insurance, living cost, airfare). The problem is that Loughborough Univ give me the invitation letter without the number. What should I do? Should I ask for CAS to the officer?

I am studying for a Masters in a UK college the college is good , my result will publish on December but my visa expire on September moreover my class is already finished at this moment if i want to extend my student visa i need a CAS number from my college but it looks like college dont want to issue a CAS for me unless i enrol again for a new course one of the member of staff informally said ‘college have limited CAS and each CAS cost money ‘ ! I paid £5000 for my masters course and it is not worth to return to my country with out my MSc result . I will be happy if can kindly advice me on this issue.

This is depend in as what type of student you are to the UK.If you are applying for a diploma course you can only work 10 hours per week.But if you are applying for a under graduate course you can work up to 20 hours per week..
The IELTS is depend the college you are applying.If that college is requesting the IELTS is must you have to submit them IELTS with a 5.5 overall.But some colleges have placement testes.If you can score that test than 55 you don`t want to do IELTS.(YOUR ENGLISH LEVEL MUST BE IN B2 LEVEL).
Before you are applling pleace check the place you are aploling for is in UKBA SPENCER REGISTER LIST.And in your counter there some TRUSTED PARTNERS. Apply via them.That will be more secur.
