  • Hi Daniel,
Today I want to get the attention of UKBA towards the same issue like Gateway2UK Education. Yes! it is St.George’s Uk Limited,193-195 Balaam Street,
London E13 8AA. Between 1st Feb to 19 Feb they sell Visa Letters in Pakistan at the rate of
250 Pounds. Only in Lahore, a city of pakistan, Ghulam Murtaza(their Agent) sold upto 400 plus letters at 250 Pouns, with the paid status of 1500 Pounds. When u make a call to college, at reception of the college
MS Benita, an Indian Woman gets the calls and confirms the admission.College Authorities are involved in this henious crime. The same Agent now has given advertisement on Sunday in Daily JUNG as “New CAS Admissions in 350 Pounds only”. He was the man who gave me a fake visa letter from UKhelp4u Academy of English, now a de-register institute. He got 1500 Pounds from me.But he is not refunding my amount, on return he says, “let the college revoke!”. Well! I had to withdraw my file, and i withdrew it finally.I dunno, where is UK border Ageny? Such things are currently happening in inside Uk. I hope, you will reply me soon.

    • Hi Varun

Even after an inspection, a month is set aside for the UK Border Agency to confirm in writing its findings and details of any allegations against the sponsor. The education provider is also rightfully given time to respond in writing and submit a defence if necessary. Only then will the UK Border Agency make a final decision. So we should hopefully hear something about TASMAC towards the end of March.

    • Hi Varun

These things do take some time to sort out. Remember I’ve told everyone that it takes a maximum of 32 days following an inspection for a decision. TASMAC UK Ltd. Tier 4 Licence suspension lifted 17 March 2010. It has been re-included on the Register with a B-rating. Don’t have so much hate for the UK – you can now come and be a student here!

Keep me updated on your progress Varun.

  • I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT ‘LONDON COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT’.WHEN UKBA REMOVE SUSPENTION?

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 0 Thumb down 1

    • They claim on their website that they have been the victim of the issuance of fake visa letters.

Perhaps they have been up to the same things as Gateway2UK Education?

If so, I’m skeptical they’ll keep their licence.

  • Hello Daniel,

I want to aply at Alliance Resource NVQ Training Centre , do you know if the college is registred???

I am romanian and I want to aply for yellow cars as a student, can you recomand me one college that I can trust ,because I applied at Concept Care College in january ,they took my money and they can’t aply for my yellow card.
Also , do you think I can recuperate my money from this college , because they said that I can’t.

    Thank you!

    • Hi Claude

No, as of 5 March 2010 Alliance Resource NVQ Training Centre does not appear on the Register of Sponsors. I think it has been suspended for sometime now.

But as you are from Romania you are not a visa national and so don’t need a student visa for the UK right?

Do you have paper/electronic evidence that they’ve taken your money. I’d be glad to help anyway I can.

Perhaps you could explain your situation a bit more.

  • Im concerned that no only have the ukba and accredation bodies been duped into believing these colleges were genuine, but also uk universitys who where ready to offer degrees courses with these colleges. guildhall and university of east london degrees need to be investigated immediately. i suggest the ukba look into this and they might be surprised at what they uncover!!!!!

    • I agree; courses run by private colleges but accredited by publicly funded universities have always seemed fishy to me. Remember, the universities will get kickbacks for this service too.

    • Hi Paul

Did you see our post about Gateway2UK Educaiton being involved in visa fraud? Given the circumstances, I think it will take a long time for the college to resolve the situation.

      HAVE GATEWAY2UKEDUCATION BEEN INSPECTED?

WHERE DID U GET THE INFORMATION FROM?

ALSO DO U THINK THEY WILL GET THIER SPONSOR LICENSE BACK?

WHEN IS UR INTAKE? HAVE U APPLIED FOR VISA?

WHAT R U deciding to do?

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

    • Hi Ali

Do you mean Gateway2UK Education? I doubt they’ll be back soon as they have been found to be involved in a large visa fraud. Even if the college is not directly involved – it will take a hell of a long time to go through every visa application, every student record, to find the fraudulent ones.

    • Hi Harmeet

unfortunately, there is no max timescale for the resolution of licence suspensions. The UK Border Agency is clearly overworked right now and we’re finding the process is taking many months. Remember too that the UKBA will be checking attendance records of every student, so for large colleges the inspection process will take some time indeed.

I don’t know when they were first suspended, sorry, but it will have been in or before December 2009. TASMAC annoy me as their website still states they are an A rated sponsor – which is misleading to students – and they refuse to provide any sort of update surrounding the situation. Poor form really.

    • Hi Umar

I think they have been suspended because they offer courses accredited by Anglia Ruskin University, which have come under heavy criticism lately.

I will chase the college for an official update and if their suspension is lifted, we’ll let everyone know.

    • Hi Suneel

They seem to currently be changing their systems in a similar way to colleges who have come back on the list. However, as of 1 March 2010 their licence is still suspended. The whole process can be a long one. I guess you’ll have to wait for the outcome of the suspension as you will not qualify for a refund if you withdaw your visa application.

    • Hi Tanya

It would be down to the University of East London as to whether they will continue to accredit courses at an institution that has had their licence to sponsor student migrants revoked. The college does have a legal responsibility to continue providing you with services you have paid for. If your degree is awarded before any action is taken you should definitely be OK; as your degree will be from the University of East London you will still be eligible for a Post Study Work visa.

Their website is down again today. Let’s hope their just updating it like before. According to reports it was inspected 19 February, so it could be as late as the end of March before the suspension is resolved.

        • Hi Harwinder

As of 1 March 2010, Rayat London College’s sponsor licence is still suspended. You will have to speak directly with them about deferring entry to your course.

Good luck and keep me updated with your situation.

I am chasing them this week for an official update.

      • Thank a Lot Daniel,

But why is Tasmac taking so long when its has a A Rated Sponsor… what do you think does it have a chance to get back its license…my visa is on hold..how much more time will it take according to you.

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

        • Hi Mohd

I’m not sure what’s going on with TASMAC – their actions are disappointing. And their website still says that they are an A rated Tier 4 sponsor, which is misleading for students, don’t you think? I think it’s quite disgraceful!

I’ll keep chasing them for an official update. Do remember that the process is a slow one as the UK Border Agency is very overworked.

The time frames really do vary from sponsor to sponsor. In TASMAC’s case, it has taken around 55 days for the suspension to be resolved.

    • Hi Karan

London SAM was inspected on 19 February 2010 so we should expect some news from them soon.

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 2 Thumb down 0

    • i think ukba will take a strong note of london sam since this college is nothing but simply a gateway for economic migrants to gain access to 2 yrs work permit. my cousin completed his mba from there and he says that london sam has no standing in the job market. this is since it admits students in to its mba course without any work exp. or ielts requirement…

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 1 Thumb down 2

      • Well it’s not too surprising that London SAM doesn’t have too much impact in the labour market as it is a qualification gained from a private college, as apposed to an equivalent degree from a reputable UK university.

For an MBA to be really valuable and considering the cost, you have a choice of only a handful of education providers. This is true for natives to the UK, so a well respected programme is a must for a migrant worker.
