I am very happy to know that, our college will be listed soon on ukba’s list. Which is a good news for all students who are studying on Guildhall.I have applied for 30 month including english course when i was in my counrty, but i got a visa only for 7 month. I arrived here on 12th of oct. I have completed my english course. Now i am in troule,My visa is going to expire on 30th of april. Can i extend my visa from this college?could u plz give me a solution?
thanks darren,
i emailed to ukba many times , they didnt not give me any answer, they only reply with FAQ, which does not answer my question. if you call them, three times and talk to three different ppl with same query you are guaranteed to have three different answers or opinions( only if it is slightly tricky). sometimes they even have trouble understanding plain english. sorry i am not being patronising ..i am stating facts. but anyway..thanks a lot for your reply, i really appreciate it.
hi darren thanks for your suggestion. but if guildhall loses its licence then, two year extension will not be possible at all. the thing is i am not under tier 4 , since i am under old visa therefore i am not sure if tier 4 rules will be applicable for me. the thing is i am in trouble and it is not my fault or i have not commited any offence, if college loses its licence..i am being punished for someone else’s fault. these immigration rules dont have any justification at all..sorry if i am moaning..
Hi Tanvir, i would like to suggest you that , you must ask to the guildhall colege abot the licence situation. As i heard that, guildhall teachers are optimistic and get back licence. Someone told me to ask on 5th april regarding guildhall licence. But you are in guildhall and u can better ask inf ormation abot all. If u get any info plz post here too. Thanks. Gud luck. Farooq Mughal.
hi farooq, thanks for your msg. i went to that college because it was a cheap option for a university qualification. let me tell you one thing, that college does not care about students and they will tell you everything about rules and regulations ..and quite frankly ..most of the time they dont even know what they are talking about , they will only harrass you for your money. going to that college for a suggestionn is not a great idea really. but thanks anyway. when you are suspended , you are suspended for a valid reason right ?? but why am i being a victim here ? i have not done anything..i am a genuine student and my life is on the line here..this is disgusting. the unjustified rules are simply pathetic.
hi farooq, you would be happy to know that your college guildhall has just received B rating from ukba. you should be able to see the update in about couple of days time on the ukba website. i hope that would end the ordeal for a lot of people. i think ukba has been really naive to have such a system where students are not protected. but hey..it is good news for everyone though. i hope everything goes nice and smooth for you now. ta
Hi dear Tanya, how are you? Long time to see you here. Tanya it really good news for me and all Guildhall futuring students and i would like to thanks you. Tanya you are really such a nice person. But tanya let me know, is B rating dosent matter in my tier 4 student visa now? coz b4 was A ration. Can I check on UKBA website for my guildhall college till 13th or 14th April? Hope to hear you very soon. Bundle of Thanks again dear Tanya. Tc

hi farooq, i apologise for not being able to come back to you on this earlier.
as far as issuance of visa, rating A or B would not make any difference. i dont think you have got any thing to worry about that for the time being. but as i have told you earlier that rating B means that UKBA will carry out extensive and more frequent inspection on this college than ever before. rating B also means some kind of warning as well. if the college can improve their behaviour and can stick to all the regulations they will be given rating A in three months time, or they will be given Rating B for another 3 months if they dont lose their licence altogether. that is all really. but as i have said, you dont have anything to worry about now but please note that they are still not on the register , but they will be very shortly. good luck .
Hi dear tanya, its ok to see u here after long tym.i am happy to know that all which u told me. Tanya in this week college will come in the ukba website? Plz reply soon and keep in touch with me .thanks. Farooq. Tc
Check with UKBA – but I am reasonably sure that any new visa application (which your two year extension will be) will be under the new rules. The basis of your visa application should be your degree and not a sponsorship from a college. Please check, you might be surprised.
tanvir they will follow their emigration rules only, its not necessory that you done anythings wrong or not.there is three things in law, void, voidable and valid.guildhall is in vaidable position so mind before you step.another things there is nothing to do with either you are under tier 4 student or not it would be apply over everyone.i will stricly advice you dont take this risk pls.
nim, thanks for your suggestion. while browsing through ukba website, i found out that ukba says at one point that , student with old visa will be judged on the basis of the old rules. of course they have not elaborated on that so again there is no clear cut direction as to what to do. and yes of course they will follow their immigration rules when it comes to immigration but we general students are not meant to be legal expert even if we study law ( as we are studying in order to be a legal expert which has not happened yet) and therefore they should provide much clearer direction as to what to do. but anyways. thanks for you suggestion and i appreciate it, especially the pls bit at the end really moved me.
You will be judged by the old rules when it comes to changing sponsor. The procedures you need to follow to change sponsor are different for student migrants who got their visas before or after 5 October 2010.
In terms of working hours etc, you will be judged by the old rules – i.e. the rule changes in March and April 2010 will not apply to you until your visa expires.
Obviously, when you extend your visa you will be subject to the current immigration controls at that time.
hi daniel,
i was wondering if you could help me with a piece of information.
i am studying at guildhall college and i am almost done with my bachelors. i am preparing my dissertation and i wll be submitting my dissertation in May. as you already know that the licence of that college is suspended. but my problem is i have to go to USA in june to see my family(i hold bangladeshi passport)and i am on a student visa which is going to expire at the end of this year. so when i go to USA , do you think i will be facing any problem at airport just because of the fact that my college is suspended?? please note that by june i would be done with my education anyway, but i need to come back to attend graduation ceremony. i would forever be grateful if you reply to my query.
thanks
tanvir
The UK Border Agency advises migrants of sponsors whose licence has been suspended not to travel. You could well face problems when you return to the UK. There have been cases of people being sent home when they return to the UK and having their visas cancelled.
If you really must travel then I suggest you consult an immigration lawyer.
Can you delay your trip. If you are through with your training in June and if you complete your Bachelors, you may be eligible for the 2 year extension. Perhaps you can secure that before you go and the guildhall issue won’t be a problem.
Also, and I have no proof or evidence, but my feeling is that Guildhall College may face difficulties in getting their permission.
hi farooq, what you have heard is true. that college has been inspected and home office will give their decision in about ten working days. if the suspension is lifted , u will be able to find out on the ukba website anyway. in the mean time, it is better to talk to some immigration lawyer as daniel suggested.
thanks
thanks 4 reply me tanya and daniel . I appriciate ur advice which u suggest me and i m also satisfied with you’s advice too. Munna told me that , will let know abot the licence on 3rd april 2010 . I hope guildhall college INSHALLAH will get back licence aftr 3rd april. Ameen. If u know any updates abot guildhall college so please post here immidiately. Thanks again. Frm Farooq Pakistan.
Hi Tanya, i heard some one on 24th march that homeoffice has been inspection before 24th march and guildhall will know abot licence on 3rd April by UKBA. Did u hear that any kind of news? Can u get infomation regarding guildhall licence on 3rd April? Hope to hear u soon. From Farooq
hi farooq,on 99.99 percent of the time , people get visa after wining administrative review. your situation is a tricky one, as british high commision would not be able to make any decision on your application, until they get one solid result on your college. that means high commision will hold your application till they get a confirmation and then they will issue a visa to you or they will refuse your visa again if the college loses its licence completely. administrative review will not be effective if the college loses its licence. so i guess you dont have any option apart from waiting.
Hi tanya, thanks for pleasure reply me here. But if guildhall college lose licence then after that uk embassy never ask me to change other sponser behalf on won administrative review? Reply me soon. Farooq
hi farooq, if the college loses its licence completely, you need to find another sponsor( college) and resubmit your application. please consult the appropiate visa processing agency in pakistan as they will have accurate information about that, since rules sometims may vary one region to another.
Hi Tanya, thanks for the reply me. Yes you saying right that i can change other sponser(college). Tanya if i change my sponser then my administrative review winning letter will be able to use for tier 4? I have asked to some of them in my country abot my case situation and they told me that , if guildhall college lose licence then i am able to change other college with the same my administrative review letter coz it was nt my fault if college lose it licence during my tier 4 visa administrative review application proccess which i sent already. Coz i won administrative review and i shouldn’t apply new tier 4 visa? Thats the mean to ask you that. Hope to hear you soon tanya. Thanks. From Farooq
Hi Tanya, thanks for replying me regarding guildhall college. I want to tell you that i had refused Tier 4 visa on july 2009 then i sent my documents again for Administrative Review and after that i won Administrative Review result by british Hight commision Abu dahbi then i sent my pasport to british high commission Islamabad on september 2009 and i was waiting my visa collect bt i heard on january 2010 my college has suspended by ukba so i been waiting since 6 month already to get my visa pasport but please tell me that in this situation can i change to other college sponser in these situation(guildhall suspended) or uk embassy wil contact me ownself or should i wait to get final decision of guildhall college by homeoffice. Please give me good advice in my favor. hope to hear you soon Taniya. Thanks. Bye
well it is just another rumour but i will still share with you. as i said before, that apparently guildhall college won the case and no one knows what case it was. i am guessing it was a normal appeal they made against an imposition of complete withdrawal of licence. if that is the case, the college will have to wait for a visit from homeoffice and then the homeoffice will give another decisoin wheather to give the college another chance or not. there is nothing students can do apart from waiting. farooq, if you are in hurry , you need to find another college and try to get refund from the college as i am guessing you have already paid some money towards your tuition fees and all that. yeah ?
thanks
hello tanya and daniel, plz let me know any updates abot guildhall suspension an inspection by the ukba? Any chances to get licence end of march? Post soon plz. Thanks.bye. farooq
Im aware that guildhall college students are presently trying to enroll in other colleges because munna has told them to…….
Can someone tell me why BRIT college are still on the list, have the ukba gone mad, they are probally the most bogus of them all.
johnsmith..when you say munna has told them to find another college..what is your source and therefore the authenticity of your information? please do not make something up as students are already confused. the last thing they need is devastating rumours. when students are vulnerable due to all that suspension , i dont think ppl should take advantage of it. thanks
hi mr.daniel, thanx for the reply regardin postgraduate. Im in pakistan nw thats y i asked u that. And my visa application with the uk embassy since 5 months bt at the moment my college has been suspended so i am waiting to resolve the problem abot the suspention. So let me that, can I do postgraduate diploma course in any uk colleges in furture? Plz reply me soon. Hope to hear you soon Mr. Daniel. Frm Farooq.
the answer to your first question is : there is not gurantee if the college will in the register or not because at this moment everybody is relying on what the college is saying. i guess students have got no other option apart from waiting.
the answer to your second question is : grade A means the college does not have any problem or issue with home office every thing is normal , the way it should be. on the other hand grade B means home office has given the college an ultimatum/ caution notice and three months time to improve so that college can be graded A again. if they fail to do that the college will either lose the licence completely or home office can give them another three months time improve and that mean college will have be a B grade college for the next three months and will have to try to improve to get A grade. however, home office can give a maximum 12 months to college to improve.
i hope that was helpful.
There is another reason why a college might have a B grade and that is they have just opened. You need to have a B grade for 12 months prior to receiving an A Grade Tier 4
Thanks for replyin tanya, i wana ask u one thing, after 2 weeks guildhall college will surely get back licence again and when the college name come in the ukba registered list? What is the different between A and B level? Hope to hear u soön. Frm Farooq. Thanks
hi everyone, apparently guildhall college won the case. well at least that is what they said to their students. however, it will still take about two weeks to get their name on the register . so there is nothing we can do apart from waiting. even if they get their licence back, surely it will not be a A grade college. they will be given a B grade, but then again they will be given 3 months to improve their college or they will lose their licence and on the other hand they might be given another 3 months to improve.so lets see..how it goes. ppl who are under tier 4 catagory they will be notified by home office if the college loses its licence completely. so it is important that all of you who are under tier 4 , make sure dont change their contact details such as address, phone number and email address. if anyone else has got different opinion or different information. please share with us.
thanks
tanya.
A sponsor can have up to 12 months to complete a Sponsor Action Plan and will be visited by the UK Border Agency every 3 months. If on their first inspection everything is resolved, they will be seen to have completed the Plan and will get their A rating back again.
hi all, is anyone know that , UKBA is not goin to allow PGD Courses in all uk colleges just in recently. Is it true or not? Plz let me know abot that. Frm Farooq. Reply me soon.
faiza, do u know faisal( kewan ashfari) studying in guildhall college? Faiza do u know the decision of guildhall college on 5th march? Is guildhall will get back licence again? Plz post here if u know abot that. Hope to hear u soon. Frm Farooq.
They got replied by ukba on 5th march.so outcome will be after 28days.so u have to wait more 22 days for their license status.than n only u should change your college.as par my opinian.
thanks Aditi, thanks for reply here .but let me know one thing, will guildhall get back licence again after 22 days & guildhall can be fulfill the homeoffice requirement within 22 days for licence back? Hope to hear u soon aditi. Frm Farooq.

You will not be able to extend your visa whilst their sponsor licence is suspended. Can you change sponsor?

Im aware that guildhall college students are presently trying to enroll in other colleges because munna has told them to…….
Can someone tell me why BRIT college are still on the list, have the ukba gone mad, they are probally the most bogus of them all.

johnsmith..when you say munna has told them to find another college..what is your source and therefore the authenticity of your information? please do not make something up as students are already confused. the last thing they need is devastating rumours. when students are vulnerable due to all that suspension , i dont think ppl should take advantage of it. thanks

thanks farooq for question.
the answer to your first question is : there is not gurantee if the college will in the register or not because at this moment everybody is relying on what the college is saying. i guess students have got no other option apart from waiting.
the answer to your second question is : grade A means the college does not have any problem or issue with home office every thing is normal , the way it should be. on the other hand grade B means home office has given the college an ultimatum/ caution notice and three months time to improve so that college can be graded A again. if they fail to do that the college will either lose the licence completely or home office can give them another three months time improve and that mean college will have be a B grade college for the next three months and will have to try to improve to get A grade. however, home office can give a maximum 12 months to college to improve.
i hope that was helpful.

Tanya,
There is another reason why a college might have a B grade and that is they have just opened. You need to have a B grade for 12 months prior to receiving an A Grade Tier 4

hi everyone, apparently guildhall college won the case. well at least that is what they said to their students. however, it will still take about two weeks to get their name on the register . so there is nothing we can do apart from waiting. even if they get their licence back, surely it will not be a A grade college. they will be given a B grade, but then again they will be given 3 months to improve their college or they will lose their licence and on the other hand they might be given another 3 months to improve.so lets see..how it goes. ppl who are under tier 4 catagory they will be notified by home office if the college loses its licence completely. so it is important that all of you who are under tier 4 , make sure dont change their contact details such as address, phone number and email address. if anyone else has got different opinion or different information. please share with us.
thanks

Thanks Tanya.
A sponsor can have up to 12 months to complete a Sponsor Action Plan and will be visited by the UK Border Agency every 3 months. If on their first inspection everything is resolved, they will be seen to have completed the Plan and will get their A rating back again.

Hi Farooq
I certainly do not think that the UK Border Agency has been all Post-Graduate Degree programmes in the UK!

Hi Aditi
I agree with you; if students have the time to wait for the result of a suspension, they should.
After inspection, 32 days is set aside for correspondence, so it isn’t a quick process. Find out more on the timescales: what happens to my education provider if their licence is suspended?.
