My apologies for a late response: I was not checking my emails regularly in the last couple of weeks.
However, as I did before, I would love to try to solve your problem. I am not sure about your case, but if you do share a little more details by email, I shall surely look it up and see what can be done to address your concerns.
On a more general level, the college was indeed in suspension in January and the classes/ schedules were disrupted around the time. Also, the college did have to take action against the students who were not coming to college and continued to work full time instead. However, we have moved forward since then, and I shall be keen to ensure that if you are a genuine student interested in studying, we make amends and ensure that your plans to study and get a qualification is not hampered.
Looking Forward,
Supriyo

hello everyone!
Just want to know if our CAS is still coming or not. Students from the Philippines have paid the TUITION FEE long time ago but until now we are still waiting for the said document especially for the PGDMS applicants. Please could anybody give us any details of what’s going on. Do we still have something to wait? I just find it very unfair that some students got their CAS so quickly even those who applied after us..
Thank you.

Dear all students (and potential students),
I am a current student of London Sam and studying towards the CIMA professional qualification. I write to share my experience at London Sam.
Generally speaking I sat 2 papers last year (P1 – taught by a Mr Atolley) and (F1 – taught by a Mr Navzar Tarapolata).
Whilst the enthusiastic and professional lecturing approach of Mr Atolley was sound and very much respected, Mr Navzar Tarapolata did not deliver what I call even an adequate level of teaching.
12 weeks of lectures was scheduled for him to teach us the F1 paper however he did not completely cover the syllabus. He left out a 30% of the syllabus which consisted of consolidated statements.
His attitude to students was appalling and hinted indirectly rather racist remarks to students of African origins. He shouted at a student for asking a question (because of grammatical flaws in the way the question was being asked). He made rather sarcastic comments about MBA students and their lack of English skills for the qualification.
When students complained about Mr Navzar Tarapolata’s behaviour, this problem was never addressed.
I summary, London Sam charged us for a full course yet did not delivery the A class teaching they promised (well advertised).
Talk about about corporate governance and being responsible to those who are associated with you! Shame on London Sam.
My hard earned cash.
So why does this leaves me Frustrated and Angry not just with management but lecturers as well?
I urge fellow London Sam students to write their feelings as well please for the sake of future and potential students.
How on earth did London Sam manage to achieve CIMA accreditation?

Dear Justin
I appreciate your queries about my motive, and surely it deserves a clarification.
I have been involved in Higher Education for many years and recently started working with London SAM on a few projects. As I said, I stumbled upon these posts, and since I knew people in the college, tried to see whether I can help anyone out.
My motive, which I was upfront about, was to ensure that people don’t feel bad about the college I am now involved with. I could do little anyway, but tried to do whatever best I can.
However, in the process, I also realized that some of the posts were quite motivated, and untrue. I have tried to look into every allegation made here and tried to see whether there is any merit (and thought I shall use my access privileges to draw attention to these if they were) and found that some of the comments were plainly off the mark. I didn’t intend to show disregard to anyone, just wanted to keep the discussion relevant.
The job I have taken upon myself is to ensure, as much as I can, the mistakes are amended, while not being waylaid by people who are interested in spreading false information and using the forum to further their own commercial agenda. In my view, this was neither right nor decent.
Given your experience, you will realize that it is difficult for a business to keep everyone happy. Such has happened to London SAM: What used to be a highly successful but quite small college, has become the third largest private college in the UK in terms of overseas student population. This has meant a lot of interest and attention from universities and policy making bodies, but admittedly some omissions, disappointments and also enemies. I know – and I said – mistakes have been made; however, I am quite sure that the college today is a completely different place.
As far as your discussions with Dr Patel is concerned, I can’t comment because I dont know the background. However, I shall make an enquiry: I am not sure whether this is an appropriate place to discuss a specific case, but I shall respond appropriately in a few days.
Thanks & Regards,
Supriyo

Dear Subhash
I notice that you finally accepted that LondonSAM is operating normally and issuing CAS, which is quite a change from your earlier statements on this forum. I am hoping that you will go through a similar change of heart regarding the other issues soon.
I am not sure why you bear a grudge against LondonSAM, but the points you make are quite off the mark. Here is what LondonSAM really does: Charge NOTHING for any of the services you mentioned here. Except for Dependent Letter, for which £50 is charged: The reasons for this are obvious, administrative work that needs to go in, and this is not ad-hoc as you suggest, but known to all students at all times. The only other event where a student can get charged if the paperwork is needed on the same day: They pay a token charge of £10, which is more to ensure that the real urgent cases get attention rather than getting swamped by everyone demanding all paperwork on the same day.
So, your statement was a willful misrepresentation. The reason I participate in this forum is that here, real students seek advice and support they need. What started as a casual drop-by remark has now become regular work, and I do feel good being able to do bits which make a difference to some students.
In context, I find your campaign of misinformation and untruth quite shameful and distracting. Even if you have a private grudge, there are more dignified ways of expressing your views than this.
I shall sincerely suggest you not to spam this site and allow it to serve its purpose. This will do a world of good to all concerned, and even save you a few blushes from unneccessary public u-turns.
Best Wishes,
Supriyo

Dear Supriyo,
You certainly appear to be a genuine support and arbiter for potential London SAM applicants. If genuine this is wholly admirable. However, I may be wrong, but I suspect that you may have an ulterior motive. The are endless complaints written by begrudged applicants students and graduate scattered across the internet and sitting resting in in-trays in UKBA as well as the pigeon holes of may UK an Indian MPs.
It is great that you are able to hep individuals with their queries. However all of these seem to be about getting students into London SAM and helping them get their money to London SAM. Your reference to success in previous blogs does not highlight the trouble London SAM keeps getting itself into with the UK Home Office.
I genuinely do hope you appreciate and respect your applicants.Because my experience of dealing with some of your students is far from healthy. I do not intend to use this site to publicly embarrass you or Dak Patel. I have contacted Mr Patel on numerous occasions relating to a specific case, and in almost a year he still has not had the respect or decency to merit my queries with a reply.
I am involved in Higher Education policy at an academic level. I can assure you London SAMs names comes up again and again. You need to treat your current, registered and graduate students with as much respect as you support to show your potential students.
Your flippant disregard from the previous blogger ‘Subnash’ demonstrates your arrogance and lack of compassion. When people write posts that have tinges of anger attached to them they are based on real feeling, they are flaming or spamming you, they are distressed, angry, and most of desperate.
I don’t anticipate you will respond to this post anyway, (as i am not a potential fee paying student) and I don’t expect Mr Patel will ever see it. (as he is is well buffered). I will be visiting Indian again on business in a few months and will once again make my views about London SAM very clear to the powers that be.
Regards,
Justin Rami

Hi Jane
I have spoken to the Head of Admissions here and there is no particular reason why the Tuition Fee can’t be paid. So, i would suggest you to contact the office in Manila and proceed with your payment.
If, however, this can not be done, do let me know your name [as in application] and I shall do a more specific enquiry. There should not be any problems, but keep us informed anyway how things go for you.
All the best.
Thanks & Regards,

hello Mr. Chaudhuri!
I’m just wondering why Londonsam doesn’t accept our tuition fee yet. And to think LOA has 1 month validity only. If we gonna start on September I think this is now the right time to start processing our papers for the embassy so that we wouldn’t be rushing then..
I hope you can help us, Philippine applicants, with this.
Thank you and more power!

hello Mr.Supriyu Chaudhuri..if that is the case, just a delay with the assessment of our application..so how long should be the waiting time for us to receive the CAS. We’ve filled up the 7-page questionnaire from your school, believing that it’s one of the additional requirements but it’s been more than 2 weeks already and we received no feedback. Philippine agent just gave us ‘ maybe next week’ phrase..I am not blaming them though, because I know they’ve done their part..but i just want an assurance from your school through you that we are not waiting for nothing. In behalf of the applicants from the Philippines..I am making a follow up for our CAS / LOA. Thank you for your immediate assistance..

Hi Jane
Thanks for writing.
I did flag this to my colleagues and they have reviewed the applications they have received from the Philippines on Friday. They have approved some of the applications, and requested for additional documentation – copies of certificates, passport copies etc – for some of them.
They can’t trace your application in particular. This could be because you have used a different screen name. But, in all probability, you would get either a confirmation or a request for some additional documentation today.
Feel free to get in touch anytime if you need additional information or assistance. My best wishes for your endeavour and I shall look forward to see you in London soon.
Sincerely,
Supriyo

Hi
As I said before, I work for LondonSAM. I don’t teach any of the subjects at this time or recruit students, and work on an unrelated e-learning project.
However, I know LondonSAM and Dr Patel quite well, and know that the whole team is committed to the success of the students. In fact, the college’s results are quite remarkable. For instance, recently the whole first batch of students appearing for the University of Staffordshire IT Stream examinations graduated with a 100% pass rate, no mean achievement for a cohort of students from diverse backgrounds. So, I am sure the college is doing certain things right.
As far the comments made by the ‘Student’ is concerned, I would be quite happy to step in and resolve any issues as long as they are legitimate. I tried my hand in student servicing over last few days and know that some of the disappointments arise out of the college’s efforts to ensure attendance and good learning, make sure that the students comply to the visa norms etc, whereas some people invariably want to bend the rules and want the college to facilitate the same. I have learnt, from all concerned, that this is not something LondonSAM will do, because this jeopardises the legitimate aspirations of those who come to study and build an international career.
Now, I know the college had to expand its capacity because of its success last year. The reception used to be full and crowded, even a few months ago. The college had to expand from one campus near Liverpool Street to three campuses, within a short span of six months. I can see why the student concerned here may have felt that the place is crowded, but today, this is all but resolved with expanded capacity.
As far as my colleagues are concerned, I do think they are professional and committed to the students. However, in their efforts to help everyone, they are really tested all the time by some people making outlandish requests. However, if anyone is ever rude to someone, I would like to apologise unreservedly; we respect all students and try to make them feel so all the time. The process of refunds is governed by set procedure, which is governed by UK trading regulations, so I don’t see why or how a legitimate request can be denied.
I shall make one commitment here: If ‘Student’ wants to come forward and write to me, I shall devote time and speak to the people concerned and try to resolve any issues s/he may have. I am hoping this will help. I can guarantee all my colleagues are on the same page and equally eager to ensure that all students are happy and successful, and I am sure many thousand successful students from LondonSAM will vouch for that.
Thanks & Regards,
Supriyo

Thanks for writing. Somehow I did not pick up the notification for this post and hence the delay in response. Apologies.
For courses at Degree level, we do take an Interview to assess the level of English, as you rightly said.
The best way to proceed is to contact the local LondonSAM office or agent. You will find the details on our website. However, if you are unable to do so, you can write directly to training@londonsam.ac and the enquiry will be directed to the right academic department who will then respond to you.
You can always write to me for any assistance, if any, you require.
Hope to see you soon here.
Thanks & Regards,
Supriyo

To anyone looking to apply to London sam be WARNED! it’s is a terrible college. They are just money hungry and unwilling to help. The classes are always over crowded and some of the lecturers barely know what’s going on, ( Mr Said f7). As for the princple, Mr Dak Patel, he runs the college like his house kitchen, no organisation. He has created an atmosphere of hostility towards students and trust me when I say this, he is a snake! Reception staff are rude and unhelpful BUT very quick to take your money. They always talk down to people and very unprofessional. Only excellent teachers I came across were Colins f6 and Surridge f9. And if you choose to leave they will never give you any refunds and they always try and threaten international students. It is a very poor learning enviroment and I can’t believe Acca would recognise them. Good luck to anyone already there!

Supriyo and Sunny,
Supriyo yopu said that you have to reconsider many applications for which you already have issued Visa Letter and they are not meeting New Guidelines. That means Suporiyo himself is ACCEPTING that London SAM in past accepted BOGUS Students and that is one of the Eligation by UKBA on the College to Promote Human Migration under name of Education.
You all prey to god that London SAM Continue under List as UKBA has already got many complains with Evidences of Human Migration from India under Student Visa of London SAM. gOd Bless you.

Hi Subhash
I am sure you are aware that the norms have changed quite a bit during the time that passed between the time the students were assessed and when we are issuing the letters. So, it is only normal that we have to assess the applications against the current norms than those existing at the time of our first conversation.
Reading through your comments, it seems that you are quite aware of such details and were trying to twist my words on purpose. I would rather keep the discussion to the point – addressing Nikhil’s concerns, which have now been duly addressed – instead of carry out any self-interested discussion here.
Thanks & Regards,
Supriyo
