Music Festivals: Summer 2008

With the weather beginning to improve and exams nearly over it’s nearly time to party the summer away. And we all know what the British summer is like so we’d best make the most of it! We’ve compiled a list of some of the summer’s hottest music festivals and there really is something for everyone. Be sure to check them out and book tickets quickly as they’re sure to sell out.

Having said that, torrential rain, flash floods, last-minute cancellations and cars trapped in a sea of glutinous mud kick off the festival season in May this year. So a traditional British summer and a traditional start to the period!

Britain’s leading sustainable music festival, the Sunrise Celebration, was cancelled at the last minute after torrential rain turned the festival site near Yeovil, Somerset, into a quagmire. Early arrivals had to be towed off the site, while police and stewards turned away many of the 6,500 festival-goers who had not heard the news. Be sure to check back regularly to make sure you’re not affected!
