Laugh Your Socks off This Summer

Laughter is the best medicine at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival

Comedy’s finest is set to laugh the Edinburgh Fringe Festival down as they prove to the world in their inaugural festival why they deserve to be included in the main festival.

Paul Merton, Bill Bailey, Rhona Cameron, Jerry Sadowitz, Ed Byrne, Jim Jeffries, Tim Vine and more are already gearing up to launch the comedy extravaganza, which will be taking place at Fringe’s Assembly, Gilded Balloon, Pleasance and Underbelly.

The comedy festival runs from the 30th July to 25th August, covering 55 stages and with over 253 shows, it’s going to be amazing. It really will be a clash of the world’s biggest acts and brightest up-and-comers, as well colourful splashes from unknown talent, covering many disciplines such as sketch, improv, stand up, poetry, musical and comic theatre.

Edinburgh Comedy Festival is also the place to see the best new and experimental shows, such as Why We Ate Cliff Richard, Eco-Friendly Jihad, Learn To Play The Ukulele in Under An Hour (How George Formby Saved My Life), and Creation Nation!

Over 875,000 visitors are expected this year – 5 times more than went to Glastonbury! – so make sure you book fast at www.edcomfest.com

  • I was scanning something else about this on another blog. Interesting. Your linear perspective on it is diametrically contradicted to what I read in the first place. I am still reflecting over the opposite points of view, but I’m tipped to a great extent toward yours. And no matter, that’s what is so superb about modernized democracy and the marketplace of ideas online.
