ASIC, UKBA and students who are studying at college.
We, Versatile Education Centre here in Nepal recruited over 35 students to study at Shakespeare College London from Since September 2009 to Jan 2010. Due to UKBA announcement British High Commission stopped to accept students from Nepal. So, some students couldn’t apply their visa remaining students visa was pending till July August 2010. Now all of them except 7 students visa was refused. The reason of their refusal- College Withdrawal their sponsorship. Those students who couldn’t apply their visa started to chase their payment from Feb 2010 and refusal students from July/August till now couldn’t get their money. We started to chase ASIC, British Council in Nepal and all other effort but no one is ready to help us to get our students payment. Poor students who are paying their interest since last over a year couldn’t get their money.
Is these any one who can help us at this stage?

Students should be aware that some colleges in Britain offer neither proper courses nor experienced and qualified academics to run them. The owner of Shakespeare College has no academic background, nor the intelligence to acquire it. He is by all accounts a loutish man with a tendency towards violent behaviour. Be careful!

please writing to ASIC doesnt work (they also make excuses to provide evidence of the fee receipt!!!!!!what the hell,i had my aceptance letters and 1900 pounds printed on them!!atill they didnt do anything to the college????)
i was at lcas london school of advance studies and the college is a cheating fraudster like the above college it made me look like a ping pong ball before it ate my 1900 pounds and still not email and answer,i hired a lawyer but she withdrew my case saying the collge is not replying how cna this be dont in country like uk where justice prevails please let those colges be shut before something bad happens

There are a number of colleges like this in Britain, although the government is trying to get rid of them. In the case of Shakespeare College, the UKBA has acted with extreme irresponsibility. The owner, Sean, appears to be a career criminal who employs strong-arm men within the college, and threatens staff and students, male or female.His staff tend not to be qualified as qualified people would not tolerate his behaviour.

Did you have success with getting refund money from shakespeare college? Me and my friends have been waiting 1 year more and they not give us any money or reply to my email. We need our money back and no one will help us.

I am afraid that these are not very nice people,thet have used the money to open another college in Bloomsbury London. we have given the college a month to come up with a plan for a finacial settlement but I feel it will not happen. the college withdrew its sponsorship after they had recieved the fees which in the majority are about £4000 for each student.We will not rest until some justice is done.

The college is liar and cheat. They not return money.
ASIC not do anything because the college pays them.
They ruining people and families. stop make excuse and pay money back now.

Sakeshpeare College is now asking everystudent asking for refund to speak to thier legal team Goodgers soliciters email ID legalteam@goodgers.com. But What is the address of Goodgers Solicitors no body know and the college is also not disclosing it.
Somebody please help our hard earned money is being with held for no reason. I did not even apply for visa because of ban on north India last year.

Hello. I maybe able to help. I am chasing refunds for studentds in the same position as yourself.The college has scammed around over one million pounds in fees this year. wWe have visited the college.which by the way can possibly accomodate around 25 students but took fees from around 600.You are right that they and their solicitors do not respond to letters or emails.thir so called solicitors apparently teach at the college but they do have a accommodation address which is Goodgres Solicitors ,Adam Street London WC1 I have a telephone number which is 0207 5209012. I suggest the following:
1. Write to the Honourable Minister, Damien Green and the Honourable Minister, Theresa May.
2. Write to the Guardian Newspaper.
3. Be VERY careful about working for colleges in the UK. Not all are genuine and there are still a number who are causing problems – they are possibly bogus colleges making extravagant promises that are illegal.
4. Write to the BAC and ASIC who are responsible for accrediting colleges in the UK.
