How can I Complain Against Cavendish College London

Hi,

I applied for Master of Business Administration in Cavendish College for Jan 2010 intake. I submitted my documents on 13th Jan 2010 to VFS office in New Delhi. After that college was take out of UKBA’s sponser list and my application was on hold by Home office. I was not informed by college about that. After checking on UKBA’s website, I found that college is not in their sponser list anymore. I contacted addmission officer and he told me that college will be on list after few days and asked me to hold on with the application. I have sent emails to Home office but not getting any response about my application. Everytime I phone college they ask me to hold on with my application and it will be procesesed for next intake. After waiting for more than 7 months, I have sent my withdrawl request to Home office New Delhi on 16th July 2010. Still waiting for home office’s decision about my withdrawl request. In my case can college deduct the money? and is there anyway I can make a complain about the college?

LSBF says, “UKBA announces major immigration rules changes for ACCA students coming to study in the UK”

I don’t really know how true is this, as I have not been able to come across any such rule on UKBA Website, though we are all aware that IELTS is a must thing for applying for student visa or even for student’s dependent visa now.

However, following is the email I received from LSBF as I had earlier expressed some interest in pursuing ACCA from LSBF:

How to Make the Best Use of Facebook When You’re a Student

It’s unofficially the world’s third largest country if we were to go by population alone – following China and India, Facebook has the world’s largest population base – 500 million users have signed up for this service in a new record of sorts. It’s a virtual world no doubt, but you have to admit that it’s one that’s the best connected. So no matter who you are and privacy concerns aside, it pays to hitch a ride on this bandwagon, because it sure is going places in the days to come. If you’re a student, you can make the most of Facebook not just to write offbeat status messages and leave cryptic and sarcastic comments on those of your friends, but also for more valuable purposes as well.

  • Establish a network: By network, I don’t mean one that comprises of your friends (or people who you barely know but who Facebook claims are your friends) but one that you can use for professional reasons. When you’re pursuing a career in a particular field, it’s important that you establish a network of contacts who can help you secure a job, offer recommendations, and help you move up the career ladder. Don’t make friends expecting them to help you out; rather, talk to people and get to know them before you ask for favors. Facebook is the perfect platform to do this because it’s neither too casual nor too formal.
  • Choose your friends carefully: Facebook is not a competition where you collect the maximum number of friends; it’s a social networking tool to interact with people you know well and acquaintances you’re familiar with. So don’t add people you don’t know to your list of friends, unless they’re common friends with someone you know. The problem with inviting strangers to be your “friend” on Facebook or accepting their invitations is that you’re boosting your risk of identity theft and leaving yourself open to unscrupulous people who use information on your profile against you in various ways.
  • Protect your privacy: Facebook is a safe network if you know how to protect your privacy. By default, most of your profile information is visible for all to see, so it’s best you check out the privacy options and apply them to your profile. Categorize your friends by groups – friends, family, close friends, acquaintances, work people and so on, and provide access accordingly. Remember, if you put up pictures or status messages or leave comments that are not kosher, they could come to bite you in the back when you’re looking for a job or trying to impress a potential employer.

For all its perceived fallacies, Facebook is one of the safest social networks there is simply because it allows you to decide your preferred privacy settings; and it’s the best way to network because it has the largest number of people online in the same place.

Asic accredited vision college of theology and business studies in hackney refuses to refund tuition feed paid

I had admission to vision college of theology in hackney. When I made the visa application I was denied on the basis that I had an expired cas number. Before makin the application the college assured me that the cas was valid for another six months and therefore despite the fact that I was a week late into the term time there would be no issues arising in regard to the cas number. They even went ahead and issued me a late coming acceptance letter as it was due to their lack of proper administration that I was late in making my visa application. When my visa was denied I withdrew mu admission from the college and requested a refund of the fees paid . I had paid a whole years tuition fee.

The college wrote me an email saying they would pay the refund less 250 administration costs on the 15th of july 2010.I instructed them to pay the money into my sisters account in the UK. however on the day no refund was made. The college came up with several excuses and again said they would pay on the 23rd of july 2010. They however didn’t make the payment. They then sent an email stating that they would pay on the 3rd of august 2010. Last friday they sent me an email stating that they were sending me a cheque by DHl. I called and sent them an email stating that the cheque is unacceptable. Foreign. Cheques are not accepted in all banks in my country due to fraud etc and the college is aware of this fact. The only reason they have done this is again to buy time and also because I have made a complaint to Asic.

How long does a Student visa Application take in India?

I’ve got my visa appointment later this month. The VFS people in India said that it takes 30 working days to get a visa…My travel date is in early September and so I might not be able to make it if what they say is true.I might add that my full fees at the university has been paid. Will that hasten the process?
How long did it take for you? Thanks!
